4.6.4 Retransmission of Failed Faxes

As an administrator you will automatically have the ability to retransmit failed faxes. However, if you wish to receive notification of any failed faxes then you must be included in the list of recipients of failed fax messages (see above). Alternatively you can go to the Status and Order Tasks area of the Procurement module and look for all orders with the status “Transmission Failed”.

To re-transmit a failed fax, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Status and Order Tasks in the Procurement Module.
  2. Enter the Order number in the Purchase Order box and click Search.
  3. Click on the Purchase Order number in the Status and Order Tasks Results window. The Purchase Order Status Summary screen will open. Notice the view failure button at the top of the screen:
  4. Click on the ‘view failure’ button to open the Fax Failure Notification screen.
  5. Review the Fax Failure Notification screen where you will see the problem description. It may be that the line is constantly busy, or that it is dead, or that a voice is answering the line. In most cases it will be necessary to edit the fax number in the supplier profile.
  6. After any necessary changes have been made, click on the retransmit button at the top of the screen. The Order will be resent and the audit trail updated accordingly.
