General Actions:
To ensure that documents are not held up in the approval process for any reason, each approval task may have an Escalation Timeframe added to it. Any task that has an escalation will expire after its designated timeframe and will automatically move documents forward to the next task in the approval plan. The next task in the plan will often be a specifically configured escalation approval step assigned to a deputy or subordinate approver. Your approval responsibility may therefore be performed as the owner of an escalation task.
